Watercolour Background - My 1st Stampin' Up Video

Hi friends! I hope your Tuesday is treating you well! I have something new to share with you today! I had so much fun creating the card in my previous post, that I thought I should try out a video tutorial! This is my 1st ever, so feel free to send me feedback. Hopefully I will continue to challenge myself and create a few more in the future.

So what do you think? My goal is to try and sum things up a wee bit more for the next one, but I think it shows the technique pretty well!

I also promised in my tutorial that I'd have a Stampin' Up! video to share that shows you the Big Shot machine. If you have one of these babies you can cut out those pretty butterflies that I have on my card here with ease. This machine is my favourite Stampin' Up! tool. It's worth the investment! So here you are!

I hope you are able to try this technique out, and that my 1st video tutorial helps to inspire you in some way! Have fun stamping! Please click on my Shop icon at the end of this post if you are from Canada and you are interested in purchasing Stampin' Up! products like the Big Shot! Also, feel free to contact me with any questions!

Thanks & Happy Stampin!

You Are So Kind - Stampin' Up Watercolour Card

You are so kind ... it's such a simple statement. Yet it's one we rarely think to say to one another. We will say "I love your sweater", or "I love your new hair cut". But not as often do we comment on one's kindness. To me kindness shows one's inner peace, patience, and true soulful beauty. To be kind is to be great. And saying that, I am going to send this card off to the 1st kind person on my list of kind people to let them know how thankful I am for their love.

Speaking of love ... don't you love this colour combo??? Well I do! And thanks to the kind & loving Global Design Project Team, I get to put it into play this week. I truly love the colours in this week's challenge. Saying that, I have learned something new about myself with this week's project. Can you believe that in 15 years of paper crafting I have not purchased a single role of grey ribbon??? And I own a lot of ribbon! Anywho, I think I must be adding some sort of grey embellishment to my next Stampin' Up purchase because this colour combo rocks!

If you want to head on over to the Global Design Project page just click on the image link below and it will take you there. There are lots of fab projects showcasing this awesome combo that you'd love to check out! #GDP045

Happy Summer! - With a Stampin' Up Summer Sunset

Well happy summer it is! Who doesn't love summer? We just came back from a 10 day camping trip in the mountains where it rained pretty well every day. The closest thing to the sun in our vacation photos were these pics from our stroll through a  beautiful sun shower.

It was a relaxing holiday nonetheless & we were all missing our comfy beds by the end of our trip! When we got back I was itching to craft again & I was so excited to see that TGIFC had a summer challenge over on their blog this week, as I am in need of some summer sun! #TGIFC64

http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.ca/2016/07/tgifc64.html

When I think of summer I picture the sunset and the spectrum of colours it can produce. Mother nature is by far the finest artist I know, so why not pull inspiration from her? The colour palette I chose for today's project was inspired by this photo I came across on pinterest. It portrays some of mother nature's finest if you ask me. Unfortunately, (despite the multiple pins) I could not find the original post for this photo. So thank you to whomever shared this beauty.

The colours from the Stampin' Up rainbow that I pulled from this are pictured below in today's colour combo. They include Dapper Denim, Tempting Turquiose, Gold, Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, & Wisteria Wonder.

My sunset creation is made of paper of course! I had ironically been itching to make something with my Stampin' Up Sunburst Thinlets & this card was the perfect project for me to showcase them. The water on my card was pieced together using the Stampin' Up Swirly Scribbles Thinlets. I also had to add in some birds flying off into the sunset. Rather than trying to fiddle with fussy cutting my own, I analyzed my punches and figured the pansy punch would give me some nicely cut birdies. I simply punched the pansy and then punched over the tip of the flower again to get em cut so nicely.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope that your summer is full of sunshine (or maybe even a sun shower)! If you are in Canada and you are interested in making your own paper sunset, just click on the products below, they will take you to my online Stampin' Up virtual shop. Or feel free to contact me & we can chat about all the great products & opportunites that Stampin' Up has to offer!
